Introducing the YNTO Snapshots

Meet the Young Photojournalists Honing their Photography Skills

Down in the County is excited to introduce you to the young people of Youth Navigating Toward Opportunity (YNTO) and the creative work they produced for “YNTO Snapshots.” We partnered with YNTO in Pamlico County to train youths on the skills they need to be a photojournalist. Starter cameras and laptops were provided using grant money obtained by YNTO.

In just a few months of training, they learned about lighting and photographing unposed moments. In the fall, we will continue to teach the intricacies of ethical visual and written storytelling.

All young people 13 and over are eligible to participate in the program. Contact Taquan at (910)389-6933 or Andrea at [email protected] if your child is interested.

The following photos were made and edited by the YNTO Snapshots.
