September 2022 Pamlico Pix: Deborah Jaeger, Heather Cobham Brewer and Kay Singleton

Welcome to Pamlico Pix, a monthly look at the beautiful photography coming out of Pamlico County. If you would like your photo to be considered, please email it along with a short summery of who you are and how you did it to: [email protected]

(All photos are welcome, including smart phone photography or photos of old prints.)

This week we are looking at sunrise and sunset and how they are amplified by the water of Pamlico County. It's hard to look away.

Photo by Deborah Jaeger, "Sunset February 10,2022 at the town dock in Oriental. No filters and no editing except to crop it. It took my breath away."

Photo by Kay Singleton, "My name is Kay Singleton, I live in Faison, NC but purchased a weekend home at Bath about 3 years ago. My Aunt had the 1st house on Cool Point many many years ago. I grew up on a farm in Duplin County and my Dad would promise us a week vacation to Bath once we got the summer crops in. Memories of my childhood vacations at my Aunt's place was biggest treat for my brother and I. When I am at Bath on the weekends, memories come alive of the peaceful wonderful community you can only find in Pamlico. I took the pictures sitting on the dock and one while fishing with my husband."

Photo by Heather Cobham Brewer, “Here are two sunrise photos I took at Whitaker Point last year when I was on my paddle board. I love to paddle on the waters around Pamlico County at sunrise. They were taken with an iPhone through a waterproof plastic pouch/case. I attach its lanyard to my camel bak. ”

Send any photos of Pamlico County my way, especially if they show some of our history or your own family memories. [email protected]
