Letters about registration and the right to vote
Over 100,000 voters in North Carolina, including about 150 in Pamlico County, received letters about repairing their registrations. The letters were sent to registered voters who do not have an N.C. driver’s license, DMV ID number or social security number in the state’s voter registration database.
People who received the letters are still eligible to vote. ID numbers can be updated at the North Carolina DMV website, or in person at local elections office.
Registering to vote
The deadline for civilians to register to vote is 25 days before an election. If you miss the deadline, you can also register to vote at early voting locations. In general, civilians are not able to register and vote on election days in North Carolina.
You can register to vote by mail, or online or in person at the DMV.
