The Pamlico County Board of Commissioners held January’s second meeting on Monday, January 27, 2025. It was delayed due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and snow. About 15 people attended. The next regular meeting of the Pamlico County Board of Commissioners has been rescheduled for Monday, February 3 at 7 p.m.

  • The commissioners recognized the retirement of Tim Buck, the Pamlico County Manager for nearly 20 years.

  • Pamlico County Schools quarterly update was postponed because the commissioners and board of education meetings were held at the same time.

  • Budget Amendments were approved.

  • Truist Resolution Financing Terms for New Pamlico County 6-12-Grade School were approved.

  • Commissioners approved training for the county's Department of Social Services (DSS) employees because of an error made when providing documentation to the NC government commission.

  • Approved a plan to address Department of Social Services’ (DSS) inadequate documentation for the local government commission.

  • Approved the release of payments for the 2024 Tax Bill.

  • Approved the increase of GAL (Guardian Ad Litem) Fee for Foreclosure Cases.

  • Attorney Brian Z. Taylor, who represents guardianship cases, requested an increase from $250 to $500 for his services.

  • Approved the appointment of Jon Amundson to Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) /Recovery Community.

  • Approved the request for approval for Pamlico JCPC funding.

  • Approved the Health Department Capital Purchase of Portable Electronic Sign in the amount of $13,450.00. This big sign will display public service announcements for cars on the road

  • Approved the hiring of an Information Technology Coordinator for Pamlico County. ($75,000 in salary with benefits, totaling the amount to be $103,000)
