
Sage Russell is a documentary photographer and writer born in San Francisco, California. He studied photojournalism at George Washington University, where he led the visuals for the independent newspaper, the GW Hatchet, and began his long-term project, Deathwork, a series on those who confront mortality. His work has been recognized by College Photographer of the Year, the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar and National Press Photographers Association. Now, as a Reporter/Visual Fellow for Down in the County, Sage seeks to tell the stories of all who call Pamlico home, whether through his writing, audio or photographs.
